Embracing change and connection: A summer return to Switzer Canyon

Details
What does it feel like to come back to the very place where our journey began?
This early summer, we return once again to Switzer Canyon — the sacred space where San Diego Nature Bathing Collective first took root.
Over the months, we’ve walked here in winter’s hush, spring’s tender bloom, and now the gentle warmth of early summer invites us back to witness its golden grasses, sun-warmed stones, and resilient oaks standing steady in quiet strength.
Switzer Canyon holds our shared stories, the rhythms of nature, and the rituals that have grown alongside our practice — including the heartfelt land offering that honors the ancestral presence and deep relationship of the Kumeyaay people with this land.
Whether this is your first walk here or a beloved return, you are warmly invited to join this ongoing conversation with place with slow walk that asks only for your presence.
We will begin with a grounding breath and a moment to offer gratitude to the land. Please, bring something simple if you feel called: a flower, a stone, or a breath of thanks...
Moving mostly in silence, we’ll follow the canyon’s trails as the season shifts, noticing how summer shapes the landscape and awakens our senses.
Along the way, gentle invitations will help us listen deeply — to the land, to ourselves, and to the connections that arise in shared quiet.
Please come prepared for the summer warmth: bring water, sun protection, and an openness to meet the land and community with reverence and calm.
After our walk, there will be space to reflect, share, or simply be with one another before we part.
We look forward to walking with you!
