A silent summer walk: Returning to Manzanita Canyon

Details
Each season offers a new way of seeing!
This summer, we return to Manzanita Canyon to walk a familiar path with the soft curiosity of changed eyes.
We first came here in winter, meeting the land for the first time with openness and wonder. In spring, we returned to listen more deeply, honoring both the visible and unseen life that this place holds. Now, in summer’s stillness, we are invited to notice what has endured, what has shifted, and what speaks quietly beneath the surface.
The canyon continues to offer refuge to birds, native plants, and all who seek a pause from the city's rhythms.
As we move slowly through its winding path, we’ll open our senses to what summer brings: subtle colors, warm air, long shadows, and the way time stretches when we move with intention.
Before we step into the canyon, we’ll begin with a grounding breath and a quiet moment of gratitude for this place, for the season, and for the relationship we continue to nurture with the land and ourselves.
If you feel called, you’re invited to bring a small gift ( a flower, a rock, water, a shell, a feather... ) from your home or heart to offer back to the earth, as a gentle exchange honoring our connection:
As we move slowly through the summer landscape, mostly in silence, we’ll create space to notice, to reflect, and to be fully present.
At the walk’s end, we’ll find a place to sit together to gently integrate our experiences and check in with ourselves. There will be space for anyone who feels moved to share reflections or feelings.
On our return, we’ll open to conversation and connection, walking side by side with ease.
Whether this is your first time in Manzanita Canyon or your third, we invite you to join us in this ongoing practice of deep noticing, remembrance, and renewal.
We look forward to walking with you!
