Honoring the cycles: Walking through Sweetwater Regional Park

Details

As the season turns toward late summer, we return to Sweetwater Regional Park to walk once more among sunlit paths, quiet trees, and the shifting language of the land.

We last visited here in spring, when the trails were soft with new growth and the world felt freshly awakened. Now, the light is stronger, the plants more weathered, and the landscape speaks a quieter, deeper rhythm.

This walk invites us to notice change, not just in the land, but in ourselves.

As the seasons move, so do we.

What has grown? What is fading? What are we ready to let go of, or carry forward, in new ways?

We’ll begin with a simple land offering and breath practice to express gratitude and respect for the place we’re in and the moment we’re entering.

From there, we’ll move slowly and mostly in silence, attuning to the world around us: the warmth of the sun, the rustle of dry leaves, the way certain plants lean toward light while others retreat to shadow.

These small details remind us that life is always shifting, responding, becoming.

Midway, we’ll pause to sit and reflect, offering space to rest in the landscape and listen inwardly. There will be time for gentle sharing if you feel called.

On our return, we’ll open to quiet conversation, walking together in shared presence and ease.

This walk is for anyone drawn to the wisdom of natural cycles (those seen and unseen) and to the practice of being in ongoing relationship with the land, and with the self.

We look forward to walking with you!
