Walking a new path together at Chollas Lake Park

Details
This month, we step into new ground together, walking the quiet loop around Chollas Lake: a still body of water once vital to the city’s early life, now held as a space for youth, reflection, and slow return.
Though new to us as a group, the land here holds long memory.
Built as a reservoir in 1901, it carried the lifeblood of the region for decades. Today, it offers a gentler kind of sustenance: a place to notice, to pause, and perhaps, to reconnect with a quieter part of ourselves.
This walk invites us to explore what it means to arrive somewhere for the first time with openness, curiosity, and care.
What happens when we meet a place with no expectations?
What echoes or invitations arise when we walk around still water?
What part of ourselves feels new, or ready to be seen?
We’ll begin with a breath practice and a land acknowledgment to honor the history and presence of the space we are entering.
From there, we’ll move slowly and mostly in silence, attuning to the subtle details: the reflections on the water, the call of birds, the gentle curve of the path.
Midway, we’ll pause for quiet sitting, with space to reflect inwardly or share, if you feel moved.
As always, we’ll return in ease, walking together in conversation and shared presence.
This walk is open to all who feel called to connect with land, with self, and with the gentle unfolding of new beginnings.
We look forward to walking with you!
