Deepening Our Relationship with Oakoasis: A nature bathing practice
Details
We are returning to Oakoasis Preserve as part of an ongoing practice of building relationship with place.
By walking the same land again and again, we learn the art of turning toward nature—not to escape, but to recharge the mind, revitalize the body, and remember ourselves within the living world that holds us.
The oaks, the trail, the chaparral meet us with familiarity and patience. As the seasons shift, so do we. This walk invites us to notice how the land is today, and how we are today, allowing that relationship to quietly reflect something back to us.
This practice of nature bathing is a way of listening with the whole body. It asks very little: to slow down, to sense, and to be present with what is here.
We’ll begin with a grounding practice and a simple offering to the land, honoring the ancestral presence of the Kumeyaay people. You’re welcome to bring something small and heartfelt (a stone, a leaf, a breath, or a quiet intention of gratitude).
Moving slowly through the oak woodlands, we’ll spend much of our time in silence, letting the senses guide our awareness.
Along the way, we’ll pause to return to breath and embodied presence. From this space, sharing is welcome if it arises naturally for you.
This is the a practice of turning toward nature again and again, to restore ourselves, to tend relationship, and to come home.
We look forward to walking with you!
