Join us at the Point Loma Native Plant Garden for a gentle gathering in nature as we explore the ancestral art of pine needle basket weaving—a practice rooted in patience, care, and connection to the land.

For generations, communities across the world have woven with natural materials gathered from the earth, creating baskets not only as functional objects, but as expressions of storytelling, relationship, and belonging. Pine needle weaving carries this quiet wisdom forward, reminding us of the beauty found in slowing down and creating with our hands.

Inspired by nature bathing, we will move slowly and intentionally—allowing the nervous system to soften through sensory connection with the natural world. Beneath the trees, we’ll pause from the pace of daily life and attune to the sounds, textures, scents, and rhythms around us.

Together, we will settle into the space with gratitude, arriving slowly and allowing ourselves to be held by the grounding presence of nature. Working with fallen pine needles gathered from the land, we’ll learn simple weaving techniques while moving with presence and care.

As we weave, each stitch becomes a meditation—an opportunity to listen more deeply: to breath, birdsong, stillness, and the subtle support of the earth beneath us. Through our hands, we remember an older rhythm of living—rooted in attention, reciprocity, and belonging.

There will be space to pause, reflect, share, and simply be.

You are welcome to bring anything that helps you feel comfortable—perhaps a blanket, cushion, water, or journal.

No prior experience is needed. Come as you are.

We look forward to weaving with you!
