Weaving connection and presence at Sweetwater Regional Park
Details
Join us for a gentle gathering of pine needle basket weaving and nature connection at Sweetwater Regional Park, where open trails, shifting light, birdsong, and the grounded beauty of the landscape invite us into a softer rhythm of being.
As our weaving practice continues to unfold together, we return to the simple, ancestral act of gathering natural materials and weaving them slowly into form—stitch by stitch, breath by breath. Pine needle basket weaving reminds us that creating does not need to be rushed. It can be devotional. Restorative. A way of listening.
We’ll begin with a simple land offering and grounding practice—taking a moment for gratitude, breath, and presence as we arrive together in relationship with the space around us.
From there, we’ll settle into a slow weaving circle beneath trees, working with fallen pine needles gathered with care from the land.
As our hands move, we’ll practice noticing:
the warmth of sunlight across the grasses,
the shifting breeze through the trees,
the textures held in our fingertips,
the quiet steadiness of the earth beneath us.
Inspired by the practice of nature bathing, this gathering is an invitation to soften the nervous system and reconnect with ourselves through sensory presence, creativity, and community.
Whether you are continuing your basket or joining for the first time, you are warmly welcome.
Bring anything that helps you feel comfortable—perhaps water, a blanket, cushion, hat, or journal.
This is not about perfection or productivity.
It is about presence.
About remembering slower rhythms.
About being in relationship with the living world and with one another.
We look forward to gathering and weaving with you. 🌿
