Pine Needle Weaving & Nature Bathing at Kate Sessions Park
Details
Join us for a gentle gathering at Kate Sessions Memorial Park as we continue exploring the ancestral art of pine needle basket weaving—a practice rooted in patience, presence, and connection with the natural world.
Inspired by nature bathing, we'll slow down together beneath the trees, allowing ourselves to arrive through the senses. We'll begin with a simple land offering—a moment of gratitude and reciprocity for the place that is holding us—before settling into the quiet rhythm of weaving.
As we notice the breeze, birdsong, shifting light, and the textures of the landscape, we'll create space for the nervous system to soften and for creativity to unfold naturally.
Working with fallen pine needles gathered from the land, we'll learn and practice simple weaving techniques while moving with intention and care.
Whether you're beginning your first basket or continuing one already in progress, this is an invitation to create at your own pace and enjoy the quiet rhythm of weaving in community.
There will be time to pause, reflect, share, and simply be.
Feel free to bring anything that helps you feel comfortable—a blanket or chair, water, sun protection, or a journal.
No prior experience is needed. All are welcome.
We look forward to sharing this time in nature with you. 🌿
*** This gathering is offered in the spirit of reciprocity, with a suggested contribution of $10-$30 or whatever feels supportive and accessible for you. Materials will be provided ***
