Join Forest Bathing Guide and Ecologist Jonathan Snapp‑Cook for a quiet, unhurried Halloween morning in San Dieguito County Park, with a little seasonal mischief. We will take our time to sink into the fall season. Enjoying the invitation nature gives us soft colors, dried seed heads, and a few spooky shadows.

Come to rest, leave ready for Halloween!

We’ll take a slow, gentle walk through coastal sage scrub, giving ourselves time to notice small details in the landscape. Our attention will be drawn to birds moving through the plants, leaves, shifting light, and whatever else the day offers.

Costume optional, but encouraged! Come dressed as something you’d find in nature: a fox, a fungus, a lichen, a moth, a owl, or anything else that belongs in the woods. Bonus points for the most convincing forest creature. Costumes are a playful way to arrive, and we’ll still move at an easy pace, pausing often, and giving ourselves room to breathe and settle.

This gathering is for anyone who values calm time outdoors and wants to connect with others who feel the same.

The event is on a sliding scale $15 to $25, use the codes 5OFF or 10OFF depending on what you can pay.

Book, pay, and sign waiver. (Acuity Scheduling Site - Thanks!)

Please bring:
Water, a jacket, sunscreen, and a hat. Costume pieces are welcome too, as long as they’re comfortable for walking.

The walk will be slow, but there are some uneven sections and a few short hills.

If you’re interested in a nature‑bathing experience without a walk, please let Jonathan know.

Questions are welcome.

More about nature bathing:
Nature bathing is simply spending time outdoors with an open, curious attitude. We slow down, notice what’s around us, and let the natural world meet us as we are. Often something small and meaningful shows up, not dramatic, just a moment you’re glad you were there for.
