Measuring Economic Growth with Satellites

The Charter Cities Institute works with governments worldwide to help them develop charter cities, planned cities with separate rules and regulations to encourage economic growth. This is the first meeting in a project to use satellite images of night time lights to determine the economic impact of Special Economic Zones, with the goal of estimating the likely impacts of full-scale charter cities.
