Beginners Ceilidh Dancing

Details
We are hosting a night of Ceilidh Dancing led by our wonderful teacher, Ward Fleri!
Ceilidh Dancing is a traditional Scottish social dance. It is less formal than Scottish Country Dancing, and can be compared to Square Dancing. Each dance will be walked through and called. If you've been considering giving Scottish Country Dancing a try, this is the perfect night to dip your toes in!
We welcome dancers of all abilities and fitness levels. There are no expectations to dance perfectly…this is just for fun! Mistakes are part of the experience!
A partner is not required! Come by yourself or feel free to bring along friends! We are always super excited to welcome new dancers!
Stick around for light refreshments after the dancing!
Cost: Suggested Donation of 10 dollars, but all are welcome! Cash and Venmo accepted at the door.
About us: We are a registered non-profit dedicated to preserving Scottish Country Dancing! Here is our website: https://www.dancescottishsd.org/
Location: La Mesa Adult Enrichment Center, 8450 La Mesa Boulevard, La Mesa CA 91942
What to Wear: The most important thing is to be comfortable, wear shoes and clothes you can move in. Please bring clean, soft-soled shoes, non-marking flat shoes (no heels). Do not wear flip-flops, loose sandals or stiff, ballroom dance style shoes. You want a shoe with a flexible sole that isn't clunky. A simple flat-sole sneaker will work. For clothing, men wear pants, shorts, or a kilt! Ladies often wear skirts or dresses, but they're not required. Be comfortable!
Music: We will be dancing to recorded music.
