Yuko Kawai is an ordinary 27-year-old woman working at an advertising agency in Tokyo. With no boyfriend, little savings, and few opportunities for promotion, she quietly longs for a more glamorous life—and dreams of marrying a wealthy, handsome man.

Just before her 28th birthday, a fortune teller tells Yuko that her destiny will change depending on whether she says “yes” or “no” to the first person she meets that evening. Soon afterward, a mysterious man in a black cloak approaches her with an extraordinary offer: all her wishes will come true if she agrees to sell him her shadow.

Yuko accepts, and her life begins to transform in miraculous ways. But as everything she once dreamed of comes within reach, she must confront a deeper question: Will getting everything she wants truly make her happy?
Based on an original story by Ryuho Okawa, directed by Hiroshi Akabane, and starring Nao Hasegawa in her first leading role, this film invites us to reflect on what really matters in life.
