Mission Bay Loop (plus)

A nice scenic route around the entire perimeter of Mission Bay including a portion of the SD River trail. Experienced intermediates and up only. The pace will be brisk with minimal stops.

Surface is mostly concrete with about 5-6 miles of asphalt. Route is mainly flat with the exception of four bridges. The Ventura St. Bridge (photo) has a gradual climb with plenty of roll-out on the opposite side. Sidewalk and bike lane available. The Mission Bay Drive bridges are smooth with ample room for crossing over and are separated from the road. Not steep, but you'll need to know how to slow down in a controlled manner.

Pedestrian bridge near De Anza Cove is short and not steep. Knowing how to ascend / descend in a safe manner is required. If you plan on attending, please RSVP so I know to look for you before we begin. Adults only.
