Moved! San Diego Zoo Morning + Hillcrest Farmers Market Lunch

Moved due to rain

Kick off Sunday with animals and end with great eats. We’ll meet by the giant lion near San Diego Zoo main entrance at 9:45 AM, explore a few highlights at an easy pace (elephants, aviaries, Skyfari if the group wants), then head to Hillcrest Farmers Market for lunch.

Plan

• 10:00–12:15 — San Diego Zoo wander (open 9 AM–5 PM). Please buy tickets/membership ahead.
• 12:15–12:45 — Walk/drive to Hillcrest (1.1 miles; carpool or rideshare welcomed).
• 12:45–2:00 — Hillcrest Farmers Market lunch (Sundays 9 AM–2 PM on Normal St. between University & Lincoln; tons of prepared food stalls + produce).

Notes

• Meet spot: Giant lion, outside of the San Diego Zoo main entrance.
• Shoes: Expect a few miles of walking and some hills.
• Parking: Zoo lot is free; Hillcrest market has nearby options and a DMV lot noted by organizers.
• Timing tip: Farmers Market wraps at 2 PM, so we’ll leave the Zoo by ~12:15/30 to have a relaxed lunch window.
