What we’re about
Our group is composed of experienced urban explorers and inexperienced ones, looking for new (and especially old) places around the city to explore, investigate and also document with photography.
Join us as we venture forth into the known and unknown. We're always on the lookout for a few new co-organizers. If you're interested in leading some exploring outings and have some interesting ideas that can add to the enjoyment of the group, please contact our organizer.
Thanks to everyone who has made and continues to make this group the fun and adventurous one it is!
Please support our SPONSORS!
NOTE: If you would like to be a sponsor of this group or know a company that would be a good fit, please contact the Organizer to discuss.

2025 CALIFORNIA TANTRA FESTIVAL
Everybody, the festival is back!
Please consider joining us for this annual, multi-day program that draws upwards of 100 (usually more) people, seeking greater understanding of oneself and each other while also having FUN!
Spend 5 days (or however long you can attend) away from the stresses and negative emotions of daily life, and immerse yourself in workshops, meals, discussion groups, conversation, music, dancing, nature, and enlightenment with speakers, facilitators, and fellow guests from around the country and planet.
Festival website: At https://california-festival.com/, you can find an assortment of information about the typical sorts of events at the festival, accommodation options (and related registration fee amounts), names/biographies of facilitators, what personal things to bring, and details on the supportive style of the festival (https://california-festival.com/our-commitment/). If you want to inquire about anything not addressed at the festival website or you would like clarity on information there, please send the festival organizer a message (https://california-festival.com/contact-us/) or ask me. This will be my 7th time as one of the people who helps to run the festival.
What activities am I required to participate in at the festival? Whether you attend alone or with partners/friends, you are always at full choice on level of involvement. Moreover, members of the emotional support team and supervisors (including me) are on hand to listen to and help attendees. Feel free to talk to us at any time.
Registration fee: This is paid at the festival website (https://california-festival.com/product/tantra-festival-ticket/), not here at Meetup, and so please be aware that the festival is NOT a free event (despite what this Meetup page incorrectly says by default). Your registration fee covers either on-site camping (bring your own equipment) or a dormitory bed (bring your own sheets, pillow(s), and blanket(s)), healthy meals daily, and participation in all festival events. BONUS: Enter coupon code Jay10 for a discount when buying your ticket at the festival's website.
Regardless of ticket type, all guests have access to indoor restrooms with hot showers. The price of tickets varies depending on whether you select the camping or dormitory option and whether your ticket is for early arrival (starting on 2025-09-23/TU @ 16:00 PDT) or regular arrival (starting on 2025-09-24/WE @ 13:00 PDT). Please carefully check your ticket so that you do not arrive too early or too late :)
Optional: The festival normally has practitioners on site who offer various products and/or sessions. Fees and acceptable payment forms for their offerings are are arranged between seller and purchaser and are separate from the registration fee.
Volunteering: We can always use helpers who are reliable, cooperative, and willing to work a few hours per day in exchange for a discounted registration fee. For more information, go to https://california-festival.com/volunteer-opportunities/.
Location: This year's California Tantra Festival will be held at 45000 East Kings Canyon Road, Dunlap, California, 93621. The retreat centre is at a location adjacent to the northwestern part of Sequoia National Forest, about a 20-minute drive north of California State Route 180, between Fresno and the northwest entrance to Kings Canyon National Park. (Caution: Do not confuse this with the southwest entrance to Sequoia National Park from California State Route 198, and do not mix up Sequoia National Park with Sequoia National Forest. They are entirely separate.) The retreat site is about a 1-hour drive from Fresno, the nearest big city.
Questions? Especially if you are attending the California Tantra Festival for the first time, the anticipation can be super-exciting, but you probably also have lots of questions about what to expect, how to get there, what to bring, what not to bring, what the various event types are really like, how get the most out of the festival, and how to not get overwhelmed. First, please carefully read all information at the festival's website. Then, if you still have questions, feel free to post them here or send me a direct message. I will even be glad to meet you via video-chat. (You can also contact the festival organizer via the website.) We want you to be best prepared for a wonderful time. I should be able to answer any question you may have.
(I am open to holding a group video chat whereby those who may want to attend the festival could ask questions and get answers on the spot. Let me know if you this interests you.)
I am available to answer questions until 2025-09-11. After that, I may be traveling or will be at the festival and am unlikely to have Internet access.
From the Opening Ceremony onward, I think you will find the California Tantra Festival to be memorable and maybe even life-changing.
Reminder: For a discount on registration, enter coupon code Jay10 when buying a ticket at the festival's website.
