Welcome to our TSX Challenge Meetup Group where we hold regular, online classes and events on backpacking and the outdoors that are free to join, informative, and open to all ages and experience levels. You can join our group from anywhere across the country, or the world, and get inspired for your next big adventure.
About TSX Challenge:
TSX Challenge leads guided backpacking experiences through the Sierra, Grand Canyon, Lost Coast and beyond, for all ages and experience levels. Each backpacking challenge traverses breathtaking terrain and is completely unplugged. While our treks can be intense, no prior backpacking experience is required. Just bring your mental toughness, positive attitude and be ready for an experience that will inspire you for the rest of your life.

We provide free online classes and events on a weekly basis via Zoom to help educate and inspire people about backpacking. Whether you are new to the outdoors or an experienced adventurer, get inspired by joining a TSX online event that’s right for you!

Backpacking 101

It can sometimes be intimidating to try something new. This class is designed for beginners who are interested in transitioning to overnight backpacking, but still have some lingering questions or doubt. We’ll walk you through the basics about gear, logistics and safety, and give you some tips on how to get started. Join us for a fun, upbeat, interactive Zoom call where you can get build the confidence to start planning your first backpacking adventure. Join us for a fun, interactive experience where we’ll discuss three Trans-Sierra routes to Mt. Whitney that enter from the west side backpacking Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks. Learn about each route, trail head access, permits and key highlights. Our target format is 30 minutes of interactive presentation followed by up to 30 minutes of discussion and Q&A. Hell For Sure, Mt. Goddard & The LeConte Divide

Join us for a fun, interactive experience led by TSX Challenge co-founder Chris Casado to explore on- and off-trail routes into John Muir Wilderness and Kings Canyon National Park from the west. We’ll introduce you to remote terrain including Red Mountain Basin, Bench Valley, Black Cap Basin and Goddard Canyon. This talk is designed for backpackers in search of new adventure, or those considering a Hell For Sure Challenge or Mt. Goddard trek with TSX. Space is limited.
