Let's make an altered book journal together in four evenings over Zoom!
Wondering what an altered book journal is? I made a little intro video!
This is a fun, easy project doing tearing and glueing--no sewing in of signatures.
Class meets over four Fridays via Zoom, 5-7pm PST with one optional in person gathering on Saturday, 9/6. All the Zoom sessions will be recorded, so no worries if you wish to watch again or if you miss us live.
Class fee is $85 for the whole series.
Class meetings are 5-7pm PST via Zoom 9/5, 9/19, 10/3, 10/17, with one optional in person session at the San Francisco herchurch Art Womb on 9/6, 5-7pm, where we will do the tearing and glueing in our books just like was done the day before on Zoom.
Here's the same info written out differently and with a bit more detail:
Class # 1 is Sept 5th 5-7pm PST on Zoom (and will be recorded). I'll repeat class #1 in person on September 6th 5-7pm, at the Art Womb at herchurch. The remaining classes will all be on Zoom only and all recorded. The first session we will remove pages from our books, so please have your book and glue of choice (mine is Scotch Create permanent glue stick). If you come to the Art Womb on September 6th, you can take a book from my stash to use. Otherwise, please have your book in hand for the first night of class.
Class # 2 Friday, Sept 19th 5-7pm PST via Zoom and recorded
Decorating our pages
Get out your pretty papers and things you want to use as embellishments! We'll cut/tear and glue in lovely papers to change the book into a journal.
I'll be using: scrapbook paper, coffee dyed paper, printables from the internet, washi tape . . . whatever else is lying around and inspiring me!
Class #3 Friday, October 3rd, 5-7pm via Zoom and recorded
We'll continue to decorate our pages and also start stuffing our pockets! Bring firmer paper to use as tag backing or blank tags to decorate and papers to decorate them with.
Class #4 Friday, October 17, 5-7pm via Zoom and recorded
We'll continue making items to stuff our pockets with and put on other finishing touches, and share our projects with each other.
