ClickHouse April 2023 [Virtual] Meetup

Mark your calendars. The next SF Bay Area ClickHouse meetup is on the way with 3 awesome talks!

• Managing Clickhouse schemas at scale at Sentry by Dalitso Banda of Sentry. At Sentry we heavily use Clickhouse in both the SaaS and self-hosted solution. Most product features are powered by a number of Clickhouse clusters. As the system scaled up and use cases evolved, operating the fleet and updating the schemas across a variety of deployments became challenging. Sentry does not have direct control on many deployments (self hosted), which increases the complexity. In this talk we will outline how we operate our clusters and evolve our schemas across many different types of deployments. We will describe our current migration architecture, the steps we are taking to automate more of it, and the various safeguards we implement to ensure stability.
• Double the joy: Replicating from PostgreSQL and Mongo to ClickHouse by Kanthi Subramanian of Altinity. Kanthi's talk will demonstrate real-time replication from both into our favorite analytic database.
• Run SQL queries with Presto on ClickHouse! by Rohan Pednekar of Ahana. Presto has evolved into a unified SQL engine on top of cloud data lakes for both interactive queries as well as batch workloads with multiple data sources. The Presto ClickHouse connector allows Presto SQL queries to interact with and retrieve data from ClickHouse. We'll show how you can select real-time ClickHouse data and combine it with data lakes.
