SUNDAY HIKE: San Pedro Beach to Devil's Slide Pacifica - 7.0 miles, 1200 ft elev

THIS IS A SUNDAY HIKE!!!
We will be doing a moderately strenuous out and back hike in the Pedro Point Headlands near Pacifica that involves ascending 1,200 feet via hills and steep inclines over the 7.0 mile route. This hike is for INTERMEDIATE HIKERS ONLY. The route affords magnificent views of coastal Pacifica, San Francisco and the Devil’s Slide (depending on weather and fog conditions). Devil's Slide is a former section of Highway 1 closed to traffic so we can walk freely and enjoy the views.

THIS EVENT HAS A WAITLIST. DO NOT SHOW UP FOR IT UNLESS YOU HAVE RECEIVED AN EMAIL SAYING YOU CAN ATTEND. NO CRASHERS AND NO PLUS ONES.

We meet at 9:45 am at the Pacifica Beach Parking Lot B (south of Taco Bell) and depart promptly at 10:00 am. This lot fills up early, so you may have to find street parking around San Pedro Avenue, just past the shopping mall in Pedro Point (do not park in the shopping mall lot, as you may be towed). The parking fee at Lot B is $7 for up to 4 hours and $9 for over 4 hours (it may be better to pay the $9 in case the hike runs long). Bring exact cash just in case, and display your parking permit on your car’s dashboard. We will take a break at the end of Devil’s Slide for food and the restroom, along with some other pauses at scenic points to enjoy the views.

Bring plenty of water, snacks and/or lunch if you plan to eat at Devil’s Slide. The weather can get cool in Pacifica, so you may need a jacket.

Restrooms: At the parking lot (mile 0.0), the beginning and end of Devil's Slide (miles 2.7 and 4.0).
