Talk: Applying flame graphs outside of performance analysis
Description:
Dom Del Nano is a SRE on Twitter's Observability team. They are responsible for ingesting and serving Twitter's time series data through their in-house developed UI and time series database, MetricsDB (https://blog.twitter.com/engineering/en_us/topics/infrastructure/2019/metricsdb).
In this talk, Dom will discuss how the Observability team applied flame graphs (https://www.brendangregg.com/flamegraphs.html) to analyze Twitter's use of metric data, the impact this has had for Twitter's reliability and how to generate your own custom flame graphs.
