What we’re about
As the grassroots arm of the women’s movement, the National Organization for Women is dedicated to its multi-issue and multi-strategy approach to women’s rights and is the largest organization of feminist grassroots activists in the United States. Since our founding in 1966, NOW’s purpose is to take action through intersectional grassroots activism to promote feminist ideals, lead societal change, eliminate discrimination, and achieve and protect the equal rights of all women and girls in all aspects of social, political, and economic life.
The six core issues that NOW addresses are reproductive rights and justice, ending violence against women, economic justice, LGBTQ rights, racial justice, and constitutional equality.
Members of San Gabriel Valley Chapter of NOW focus our activism by taking actions to impact on the six core issues.
We welcome feminists in the San Gabriel Valley and surrounding areas to join us at our events or calls for action.

#### We are reading Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman and discussing it in September.
No one’s ever told Eleanor that life should be better than fine.
Meet Eleanor Oliphant: She struggles with appropriate social skills and tends to say exactly what she’s thinking. Nothing is missing in her carefully timetabled life of avoiding social interactions, where weekends are punctuated by frozen pizza, vodka, and phone chats with Mummy.#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
