If you like to see some cool rock formations come on Saturday May third to Castle Rocks state park. 6.4 miles loop and under 1200 feet of elevation gain makes this a moderate trail. This trail traverses through multiple ecosystems and is a mix of open scenery and forested views. On a clear day, you can see the ocean in a few spots. There are a few technical sections, including a short section that is narrow and steep with a cable to hold onto. The trail can get muddy in the winter and spring.
Sturdy footwear is recommended.
Make sure to bring plenty of water, good grip hiking shoes.
Carpooling is recommended.
Lunch afterwards at fist street ale house in Livermore.
