Calaveras Big Trees - Camping & Hiking

This will be a 3 night tent camping stay, with 2 days of hiking. 🚶🏼‍♂️🚶🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏽‍♂️🚶🏽

Calaveras Big Trees State Park preserves a mixed conifer forest with two groves of giant sequoias - the North Grove and South Grove. In addition to the giant sequoia trees, you will find the Stanislaus River, Beaver Creek, ancient volcanic formations, natural meadows, and trails throughout the park which allows you to discover the area that has awed visitors since 1852.

I have reserved 3 tent sites for 3 nights. 3 tents should fit comfortably at each site, so will be limited to 9 campers at this time. This # may be changed if we get attendees carpooling. We will be staying in the North Grove in sites # 68, #70 & #71. It will be wonderful, to be surrounded by the beautiful sequoias! 🌲🌲🌲

THURSDAY, our arrival day, we will be at setting up our camps and waiting for everyone's arrival. This will be an evening of leisure, preparing our dinners and then enjoying a warm campfire.

FRIDAY: We will Wake-up, make our breakfast before gathering for our 1st day hike. We will be carpooling to this trailhead. We will be hiking the Arnold Rim trail at approx 9 miles. We will take a short break near mid-way, before finishing our hike. We'll head back to camp to rest or do as you please, then prepare dinner. Our nights always finish off w/ campfire, s'mores and friendship.

SATURDAY: Prepare breakfast & then gather for our next hike. The South Grove trail. This will be a shorter hike w/ 5 miles of trails. We will begin this hike from our campgrounds. It would be nice to go to a late lunch/early dinner on this day, after hike in the town of Arnold. We will decide prior.

*CARPOOLING is recommended as there is 2 spots per site and only (1) is included in paid reservation. There is a $10 per night fee for extra vehicles. I recommend splitting cost of second to be fair. There is overflow parking.

**You will be responsible for your own meals. As usual....our evenings end w/ a campfire, social time and s'mores. I will provide the s'more fixins'.
There is a store in Arnold, along w/ a few restaurants etc.

-This is an ADULT ONLY trip w/ NO GUESTS ALLOWED at this time due to limited space.

*COST- $40 PER PERSON- whether 2 or 3 nights.
