Imagine a book club, but instead of discussing a book, we’re exploring the ups and downs of life! Every meeting has a new topic.
Topic for this meeting: Gender Roles. Why are qualities like assertiveness often seen as leadership in men but as being bossy or difficult in women? How should household responsibilities be divided between partners, and how much should gender influence that decision? Do women prefer men who are masculine, emotionally restrained, and always appear strong, while men prefer women who are feminine, family-oriented, and less career-driven? How much do these preferences reflect our genuine desires versus societal expectations? What challenges do non-binary people face in a world that often assumes everyone fits into one of two gender categories?
Location: ThinkTank Room of the Cupertino Library (2nd floor),
10800 Torre Ave, Cupertino, CA 95014. We'll start the meeting promptly, so please plan to arrive by 4:00 pm!
The library entrance and the event itself are free.
Hope to see you soon!
