Composting Toilet Workshop

Come to a composting toilet workshop by Mikel Robertson. Learn how they work, best practices, and how to maintain them safely.

Mikel is a licensed building contractor and a founding member of SLO Green Build. He has an extensive resume, and has a background of traveling the world, learning how other people live sustainably on the earth. He studied at the Center for Appropriate Technologies, learning about grey water systems and waste diversion techniques. In the past, Mikel also has established an intentional community on an organic farm, where they build with natural building materials, and use permaculture techniques and practices. He advised and helped Cal Poly earn a LEED certificate on their student housing buildings. He currently is the founder and manager of the local Green Goods store in San Luis Obispo, which sells green building materials.
