Italian Language Mastery Group: Practice & Progress

This 10-week series is for people enrolling in the Cuesta College Instant Italian Course starting May 15th. Kay Lathrop, this group's founder, is enrolled and will host these study practice sessions. Once enrolled in Instant Italian join us in this Italian Language Mastery Group! This 10-week virtual study and practice group is exclusively designed for individuals enrolled in the Instant Italian course at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo, CA. It will run with as few as 2 people and has no limit on numbers.

In this dynamic and interactive group, we will apply the principles of cognitive "hard wiring" to reinforce our Italian language skills. Together, we'll embody the concept that practice makes progress, that it ingrains new knowledge deeply in our minds.

Our sessions will align with our course curriculum. Through consistent group engagement, accountability, and collaborative learning, we'll gain confidence in expressing ourselves comfortably in Italian. We will go "beyond" the curriculum if, as a group, we demonstrate the mastery to do so.

The key components of this study group include:

It is our first offering of this type. The intention is simply for each participant to achieve the goals they set for themselves regarding course participation and language mastery with the support of a passionate group of people. We will be co-creating and we will all be responsible for what we co-create. There is no "leader" or "expert." The course is our guide. We'll use Zoom and its breakout rooms feature depending on the number of participants. We will also establish a group on WhatsApp to leave each other voice messages in Italian to practice speaking, listening, and replying.
