Join us for a Sunday afternoon of stunning coastal views, delicious food and wine, and Italian-style camaraderie as we explore the breathtaking Point Buchon Trail — one of the most scenic hikes on the Central Coast.
We’ll begin at the picnic tables near the trailhead, stroll along dramatic coastal bluffs with sweeping ocean vistas, and return to enjoy our Italian food and wine picnic together as dusk approaches. 🌅
### 👟 Trail Details
- Distance: ~6.8 miles round trip (shorter turnaround options available)
- Difficulty: Moderate (gentle coastal terrain, some rolling hills)
- Trailhead: Point Buchon Trail, Montaña de Oro State Park.
- Restrooms & picnic tables at trailhead
- Check-in required at the kiosk before starting
### 🕒 When
- Sunday, October 19th
- Meet at 1:15 PM at the parking lot near the picnic tables
- Hike: 3 to 3.5 hours
- Picnic after the hike
- 📍 Where / Directions
It’s easy to get to: drive straight into Montaña de Oro State Park, pass the Bluff Trail parking area, and continue until the road ends. The trailhead parking lot has picnic tables and restrooms.
### 🍷 What to Bring
- A favorite bottle of Italian wine (or a local wine made from Italian varietals)
- An Italian appetizer or dessert to share — think crostini, biscotti, pizzelle, prosciutto-wrapped bites, or olives.
- Plenty of water and layers for cooler temperatures as dusk approaches.
- A chair or blanket if you’d like to relax more comfortably during the picnic.
- Comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, hat, and your beautiful spirit of adventure.
