Gratitude Dinner: Friends, Food & Italy at Buona Tavola

Friends of Italy & Fall Harvest Dinner
Join us as the San Luis Obispo County Friends of Italy come together to celebrate two wonderful milestones: the second-anniversary of our group, and the rich, golden season of autumn harvest and gratitude.

We’re gathering for an intimate evening at Buona Tavola SLO — a restaurant whose fresh, inspired Northern Italian cuisine and warm, refined ambiance make it a perfect place for our community dinner.

Peter and I dined there recently and were simply astounded by the deliciousness of our meal:

• Bruschetta al pomodoro fresco e basilico (grilled garlic bread with roma tomatoes, basil & extra-virgin olive oil) — with goat cheese added.
• Insalata bella Cesare - romaine, roma tomatoes, rosemary-garlic croutons, Grana Padano & caesar dressing. (Truly the best Caesar we’ve had.)
• Linguine with a seafood special in a white-wine & pesto sauce — we kept raving about it!

The menu at Buona Tavola offers a wide variety of handcrafted pastas, antipasti, generous main courses, and inspiring desserts — prepared by a chef trained in Northern Italy and committed to freshness and quality.

In the spirit of November’s themes — gratitude, harvest, friendship, and shared abundance — we’ll gather around a beautiful table, savoring great food, Italian-inspired flavors, and warm conversation. Anna and I are co-hosting; Anna is a wonderful newer member (you may know her from bocce) and this dinner gives us a chance to deepen community ties, celebrate where we’ve come from — and what we’re cultivating together.

We look forward to an evening filled with rich tastes, shared stories, laughter, and the true spirit of friendship and Italy.
