Italian Card Night: Scopa, Briscola & Amici
Details
Some evenings are about learning a specific game.
And some evenings are about gathering around the table and letting the cards decide.
This Wednesday, we’re bringing the spirit of Italian card culture to San Luis Obispo County — where games like Scopa and Briscola have been played for generations in cafés, kitchens, and piazzas across Italy.
When we gather, we’ll see who arrives and what the table calls for.
🃏 Some may want to play Scopa
🃏 Others may prefer Briscola
🃏 And new players are always welcome to learn
Experienced players will happily guide beginners — just like in Italy, where card games are passed from friend to friend across the table.
What we know for sure
There will be:
🇮🇹 Italian card games
😊 Good company
🧠 A little strategy
🍷 Plenty of laughter
In Italy, card games follow a simple rule:
Chi viene, gioca — whoever comes, plays.
And by the end of the evening, you’ll likely know a few more people and/or know the ones you know MORE — plus a few more tricks.
A quick note
If possible, please pick up any food or beverages from the fantastic businesses at the SLO Public Market before 6 PM, so we can start playing right away.
