Welcome to the Sandhill Chapter of the Florida Trail Association's Meetup page!
The Sandhill Chapter is a community of Florida Trail Association members in the following counties: Alachua, Marion, Levy, and Gilchrist. We have activity leaders that plan hikes, provide outdoor skills workshops, trail maintenance, and community events in our region.

While most events are open to everyone, some events are only available to Florida Trail Association members. We encourage everyone to become members and support the nonprofit responsible for developing, maintaining, protecting, and promoting a network of hiking trails throughout the state.
Meetup is a way for us to advertise our events and strengthen our community.

Friday Morning Hike at Santos

Location: Santos Trailhead, 3080 SE 80th St, Ocala
Entrance is west of Rt 301. When you drive in, turn at the bike parking and look for us at the pavilion.

Description: Join the Sandhill Chapter of the Florida Trail Association for a 5-mile hike, generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 1 ½ hours to complete. This is a popular trail for hiking, mountain biking, and running. This trail is in the Santos Section of the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway. It starts at the Santos Trailhead and loops west.
Fees: None
General Information: Bring a hat, water, sunscreen, proper footwear, and snack if you like. Bug spray is always a good idea. Also have an emergency medical card (info) in your pack.

Dogs allowed: Well behaved dogs on leash are welcome
