One of Natures “Gems” in the heart of town”.
Alfred A. Ring Nature Park 1801 NW 23rd Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32605. Parking is free at NW 23rd Avenue entrance. NO parking at the NW 16th Ave entrance.

Description: Begin at Alfred A. Ring Nature Park trailhead,walk along Hogtown Creek,to NW 16th Ave then walk on sidewalk along NW 16th to Possum Creek Trail. Continue on NW 8th Avenue sidewalk to Loblolly Park Trail/Park, then return to Ring Park. ~3.5-4 miles at brisk pace.

Meet at the NW 23 Ave entrance parking lot.
NOT the NW 16th entrance.
General Information: Trails are in the woods, shady and unpaved. Ideal natural elements along the creeks. Trails have exposed roots and wood bridges along creeks. Walking poles may benefit if you use them. Short distances on sidewalks along NW 16 Ave and NW 8th Avenue that connect the trails. Conditions may be wet and muddy in sections. Dress for comfort. BRING headlights or flashlight, etc. Wear hat. Bring water. Bug spray advised.
Option: Post hike: go to Hogan’s Restaurant, 2327 NW 13 St. Gainesville, FL 32609 for classic deli /drafts afterwards (cash only).
Bathrooms: Ring Park.
Dogs allowed: Yes. People friendly dogs, leashed and held by the owner. No dogs in the restaurant.
