Labor Day Hike at Ross Prairie Trail
Location: Ross Prairie Trailhead 10660 SW State Rd 200, Dunnellon
Time: Arrive by 8:15 to sign in. Start hiking at 8:30 am
Leader: Marsha Jordan
Description: Join the Sandhill Chapter of the Florida Trail Association for a 4-mile hike (2 miles each way), generally considered an easy route. This trail is in the Ross Prairie Section of the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway. We will hike to the Hidden Springs, take a break, then return the same way. Very nice shaded forest hike.
Optional: Breakfast afterwards at Bob Evans, 11300 SW 95th Cir, Ocala
Fees: None
General Information: Bring a hat, water, sunscreen, proper footwear, and snack if you like. Bug spray is always a good idea. Also have an emergency medical card (info) in your pack.
