Description: Tucked away in a clearing of the forest at the Carney Island Recreation & Conservation Area is a local Marion County gem that is hard to find and not very well known. It is known as the Bradford-Barker House and was the center of the longest shootout in FBI history. Want to know more?

The house is not handicap accessible and it is in its original state. They do have air-conditioning in the house to protect it from the elements. There are no working restrooms inside the house.
About: Ma Barker gained notoriety as the matriarch of the Barker Gang, a criminal outfit that terrorized the Midwest during the early 20th century. Mother to four sons, all involved in crime from an early age, Ma Barker became synonymous with ruthless organization and control over their illegal activities. Her life and legacy, marked by violence and controversy, culminated in a fatal shootout with the FBI in 1935, solidifying her as one of America’s most infamous criminals.
