Bike the Withlacoochee State Trail

We'll ride our bicycles on the paved Withlacoochee State Trail from Inverness to Floral City and back for a round trip of approx 14 miles, at a leisurely pace of about 10 - 12 mph.

Arrive by 1:15, ride starts at 1:30 p.m.

Message the host asap through this site if you want to carpool and transport another participant's bicycle on your bike rack. Conversely, if you don't have a bike rack & want to carpool with someone who can transport your bike, message the host asap. The host will try to put you in touch with the other participant.

On the morning of event, if the weather.com rain forecast is below 25% for 1 p.m., the ride will take place. If weather.com forecasts 25% or higher, message the host before 11 a.m. to obtain confirmation on whether or not the ride will occur.

This is a pretty, paved trail through rural areas with many trees, and stretches of shade and sun. Bathrooms are available at the start and turn-around locations. Helmets are required. Hydrate before the ride and bring drinking water on your bicycle. Good idea to bring a snack along.

I recommend that you have your bicycle checked out at a local bicycle shop if you have not ridden your bike within the past week or so. Tire pressure, chain lube, brakes, etc. need attention for safety and riding performance.
