Prairie Creek Preserve: Hike Susan Wright, Kathy
Cantwell, Wayne Clements Trails: Easy-moderate level
Location: Trailhead: Witness Tree Junction @ intersection of CR 234 and CR 2082 (Rochelle)
We’ll talk about the individuals that the trails are named for and the trails.
Description: This will be a ~4.5-mile hike on White, Blue Trail. Trails are unpaved, in some places muddy, uneven or wet. Exposed roots. Diverse ecosystems. Hiking poles advised. Rest stop at mid-point along Wayne Clements trail.
Directions: Drive east on SR 20 towards Hawthorne, cross Prairie Creek continue on to right turn (south) at CR 234 towards Rochelle. Merge right onto CR 2082 ~.5 mile, look for parking on the grassy area next to the Gainesville- Hawthorne Trail.
General Information: Bring a hat, water, and snacks per preference. Bug spray is always a good idea.
