FTA Sandhill Chapter Hike & Potluck at Mike Roess Gold Head Branch State Park.
Location: Mike Roess- Gold Head Branch State Park, 6239 SR 21, Keystone Heights, FL
Meet @ 9 AM at Pavilion next to playground parking area to sign in.
Bathroom facilities are available near the site.
Entrance Fee required or a FL State Park Pass.

Summertime is here! Hydrate well before the hike. Dress to your comfort level. Hat, sunscreen, bug spray and/or hiking poles are always a good idea.
Hike options with co-leader Jane Blais:
1). “Ridge Trail” Ravine to Mill Site~2.5 mile round trip from parking lot.
2).Loblloly Loop” ~2.0 mile from parking lot.
OR do both. Both are under canopy of trees with inclines and declines into the ravine.
After the Hike: Ryan Worthington will present a personal side of history of Gold Head SP. This is one of “Florida’s oldest state parks and notable for its Civilian Conservation Corp architecture and offers a lesson in some unique Florida topography.
Potluck to be held after the hike and the talk at the pavilion:
Bring your “dish of choice” to share for at least 10-15 hungry hikers after the hike, with your own servicing utensils as needed. Please bring your beverage of choices for hike and potluck.
Also bring your utensils for an Eco-friendly gathering. Paper plates will be available if needed.
