FTA Sandhill Chapter 4th Annual Meet& Greet, Hike, Bike & Potluck

Greetings from The FTA - Sandhill Chapter!
We invite ALL FTA Chapters & members to Sandhill’s 4th Annual Meet and Greet at San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park (NORTH Trailhead), For a Hike , Bike & Potluck and Program.

Date: Saturday, Nov 21,2026
Location: San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park: 13201 San Felasco Parkway, Alachua, FL, 32615.
Upon entering at gate, pay park entry of $4.00+ $2.00 per each passenger in vehicle or display your FL State Park Pass on vehicle dash;
Covered pavilion and bathrooms located on the left. Park on the grass near the pavilion. FTA signs will be located on US Hwy. 441 and on Progress Blvd, Alachua, Florida & park entrance.
Meet: At the Pavilion
8:30-9:00 AM-sign-in AOR and choose 1 of 3 hikes or feel free to explore on your own.
Snack: Bagel w/ cream cheese
~9:15 AM, Group circle time with introductions. Join your hike leader.
~10 :00 AM, hikes begin as directed by your hike leader.
Biking is on your own, miles and miles of dirt trails to explore!
~ 1:00 PM Potluck. Registered FTA members and guests of members- please bring a dish to share with at least 10 people, for Potluck.
Drinking water will be available for refill into your personal containers. We encourage you to bring your own plates and utensils etc. A Dish Cleaning station like the FTA trail work system will be available.
~2:00 PM Informal talk on history of San Felasco Hammock Preserve State Park from a park ranger.
Focus: To promote and support our Florida Trail Association, Inc. with coordinated efforts of our 19 Chapters. FTA, Florida Trail Association builds, maintains, protects, and promotes the Florida national Scenic Trail (Florida Trail), and a network of hiking trails throughout the state of Florida. “Building More Than Trails” Become a member today.

Goal: An opportunity for FTA members and friends, to meet face to face, form friendships, develop adventures and to share our appreciation of our outdoors. “Of all the paths taken in life, make sure a few of them are dirt” (John Muir, famed naturalist) Means you should step away from your comfortable, paved routines to experience raw, real, grounding adventures in nature.
