8th Annual Hike Across Marion County

With the sponsorship of Munroe Regional Medical Center’s Prestige 55 Program and Marion Counties Office of Greenways and Trails, it’s time to lace up your boots for the 8th annual Hike Across Marion County with an exploration of the Florida Trail.
Kicking off this years hike will be Florida Wildlife Commissions Andrea Boliek. Andrea is a Florida Black Bear expert and always gives an excellent presentation about bears and their habitat in the Big Scrub. Special guest hikers to be announced including members of the Office of Greenways and Trails and Munroe Regional Medical Center.

February 23 Santos to Landbridge Mickey Thomason 7 miles
March 2 Landbridge to 49th Ave David Bowman 4.5 miles
March 9 49th Ave to Ross Prairie 6 miles
March 16 Ross Prairie to Pruitt Chris McKendree 7 miles
To join the group on any of these hikes, meet at 8:30 AM each Saturday morning at the Santos Campground off US 441, and the group will carpool from there. Enjoy exploring the wild places Ocala has to offer!
