MEXICO: Guadalupe Canyon Oasis (April 2025)

Let's go to Mexico!

This is not a backpacking trip.
This is a camp-out in Guadalupe Canyon Oasis.

You must have a valid passport or passport ID that is not within the window of expiration to participate in this trip.

This trip requires caravanning 3, reliable, high clearance 4x4 vehicles and Mexican auto insurance.

Details:
We will be tent camping at a reserved site in Guadalupe Canyon Oasis.
The best site available!

Our site has it all:
A huge palapa that boasts scenic views of a dry lake bed and the canyon below!
A stone fireplace to keep us warm while we stargaze.
An outdoor "kitchen" with a sink, counters, and table.
The only campsite that has both a private hot spring and a cool water swimming pool!

10 people maximum, previous trip attendance with San Diego Backpackers preferred. +1's are welcome before we hit maximum occupancy. The fee for this trip is dependent on attendance and will be divided amongst committed attendees to include caravan vehicle insurance and the site reservation.
(Approximately $60 per person total.)

General trip plan, more to come later:
Meet at agreed upon place to safely leave other vehicles and begin 3 vehicle caravan down into Mexico. Approximately 4 hour drive, depending on border crossing time.
On our drive, we have the option to stop and eat local food before we get to our destination.
Once we're checked in to Guadalupe Canyon Oasis, we will stay within the canyon and enjoy our amenities. There are fresh water springs and swimming holes within the canyon as well as petroglyphs and other sites we can day hike to.
After we check out, we can make stops to eat before crossing back over the border.
