Jerabek Park North
Details
A 3.7-mile loop through the canyons and open spaces of Scripps Ranch, and along the south shore of Lake Miramar, starting and ending at Jerabek Park. Hilly in many places, but no mountains to climb.
Leashed dogs are allowed.
Meet at 9:00 AM in the parking lot in Jerabek Park, 10150 Avenida Magnifica in the Scripps Ranch neighborhood of San Diego (N 32 54.615 W 117 4.959). At 9:15 AM we'll step off.
SUGGESTED ROUTE FROM SAN DIEGO: Go north on I-15 and take the exit for Miramar Road and Pomerado Road. Go east approximately two miles on Pomerado Road, and turn left (north) on Avenida Magnifica. Jerabek Park will be on your left, about a half-mile north of Pomerado Road.

The trails are mostly hard-packed dirt, but with some steep and rocky places. Wear good hiking shoes and layered clothing. Hiking poles will be helpful in a few places. Part of the route is on sidewalks.
No lunch stop is planned, but you might want to take a snack. Drinking water and rest rooms are available at Jerabek Park and Lake Miramar. You may want to picnic in the park after the hike.
RAIN? Check the weather forecasts. A little bit of rain is predicted from time to time this week, but I think the chance of cancellation is less than 50%.
COVID: Take a face mask and wear it as required.
