San Elijo Lagoon loop/Annie's Canyon
Details
5.5 miles, 300ft ascent (excluding Annie's canyon). No hazards.
Description:
We will climb the slot canyon then head to the new suspension bridge hanging beneath I-5 along a recently re-opened trail to cross the lagoon. Then take La Orilla trail to the Santa Helena crossing and turn back to the bridge. Then along the Manchester trail to the Nature Center. We continue the loop back to the trailhead.
Meet at 9:00 AM in cul-de-sac at the end of North Rios Ave.
Leashed dogs are NOT permitted. Restroom at the Nature Center.

From I-5N take the Lomas Santa Fe Dr and turn left towards the ocean. Right on N Rios Ave and follow to the cul-de-sac at the end, parking on side of road.
Wear good hiking shoes, dress in layers, take water, a snack, a hat and sunscreen.
