Poway Creek/Puma Trail in Sabre Springs

4 miles, 300ft ascent. No hazards.

Description:
This is an easier loop hike passing through varied terrains. We start at South Creek Park and walk alongside Poway Creek which becomes Peñasquitos Creek downstream. We will go up the small hill near Poway Road and then return along the scenic Puma trail. Restrooms are in the park, and leashed dogs are allowed. We last did this hike in September 2022.

Directions :
From San Diego take I-15 north to the Poway Rd. exit. Turn right onto Poway Rd, turn right onto Springbrook Dr. and then left onto Wickerbay Cove. At the end of this street the park entrance is on the right.

Tips:
Dress in layers. Take a hat, water, sunscreen and a snack. A hiking pole is recommended for a slippery rocky descent.
