Glider port & Sorrento Valley- urban walk

Overview: About 8 miles, duration 3 hours. Mostly sidewalk, but some dirt trails. Elev gain about 600 feet. This is not a casual stroll !! We walk at a brisk pace, about 3.2 mph. ⚠️ CHANGE CLOCKS BACK 1 HOUR SATURDAY MIDNIGHT. ⚠️

Route: We'll start at Glider Port; go down a steep dirt trail into Sorrento Valley, then back up another dirt trail, then into the UCSD , where we'll loop through the campus and return to the starting point. Along the way, we'll see the Geisel library (pic above), the "tilted house", and the Sun God sculpture. A map of the route is posted in the Photos section below.

Hazards: We'll be going up and down some very steep dirt trails, so walkers may want to bring hiking poles for stability.

Start time: Meet at 8:00am, start walking promptly at 8:05am. ⚠️ CHANGE CLOCKS BACK 1 HOUR SATURDAY MIDNIGHT. ⚠️

Restrooms: Porta potties at Glider Port. May be some on UCSD campus.
