Making a Living the YouTube Way

We are pleased to have local YouTuber Ricky Roy tell us about his experience making a living using YouTube. He will cover several aspects of making the Two Bit Da Vinci channel work.

Technology – Ricky hand built his studio as well as the supporting infrastructure. Hear about the cameras, microphones, sound recorders, lighting, computers, media storage and other equipment needed to host a channel.

Business – he will also cover branding, marketing, incorporation, staffing, and other aspects of making it an actual business. Of course, he will tell us about working within the rules framework of YouTube. What does it take to pull likes and subscribers?

Content – no channel can have a following without content. Ricky has traveled the world in search of content as well as covering subjects related to home improvements and solar. What are the pros and cons producing content having a short shelf life (e.g. news/sports talk) versus educational topics that become a perpetual reference.

There will be plenty of time for Q&A for anything still of interest. Please plan to order dinner off the menu.
