Proper Care Series – Free Instrument Maintenance Workshops

What It’s All About:
We’re inviting students, parents, and local musicians to join us for our Proper Care Series — a hands-on opportunity to learn the best ways to care for your band instrument. Prevent costly repairs, extend the life of your instrument, and get expert tips from our in-house team of technicians and educators.

Schedule:
11:00 AM – Trumpet TLC
Keep your valves fast and your tone clear! We’ll demonstrate leadpipe cleaning, proper valve oiling, and routine maintenance for trumpet players of all levels.
12:00 PM – Trombone Slide Secrets
A smooth slide makes all the difference. Learn how to clean and lubricate your slide, avoid common issues, and keep your trombone marching-band ready.
1:00 PM – Clarinet & Flute Care
Woodwinds need consistent TLC. We’ll show you how to swab correctly, care for pads, handle keys gently, and protect your instrument from moisture damage.
2:00 PM – Saxophone Survival Skills
From sticky pads to cork care, learn how to keep your saxophone in great shape. We’ll also cover mouthpiece cleaning and end-of-season storage tips.

• Friendly, low-pressure environment – great for beginners and students!

Bonus:
We’re celebrating the 10th Annual International Kids Music Day by giving students a chance to record a short video of themselves playing their favorite song during their care session. We'll send the video to families afterward (and share on social with permission!).
