First Annual Central Florida Fall Backgammon Tournament

Ready to test your backgammon skills in a friendly competition? It's our club's first backgammon tournament!

There is no entry fee! And therefore no prize money. The winner will get a medal and bragging rights for 3 months, until we do this again.

Due to time limitations, the tournament will be single elimination matches. Whether those matches will be 5-, 7-, or 9- point matches will depend on the turnout. You will need to know how the doubling cube works, and what the Crawford rule is.

In the likely event that we don't have a perfect bracket of exactly 4, 8, or 16 players, some players will receive byes. But this will be done in an equitable fashion: players who get byes will be penalized points in future matches, to make sure all players have the same chance of winning. This will be explained in detail at the event.

Please be prompt. Those who are not present at 6:00 will not play, since we need to pick and fill the bracket depending on turnout, and play multiple rounds to determine a champion.

Please bring your board. Pencil and paper for keeping score will be provided.

Full rules and regulations will be handed out and explained at the event. Decisions of the tournament director will be well-intentioned and final.
