Pacifica Hike - San Pedro Valley Park Loop

Details
We will hike a loop along the Hazelnut, Weiler Ranch, and Valley View Trails in beautiful San Pedro Valley Park in Pacifica. The first nearly two miles is uphill, at a moderate grade, then downhill roughly the same distance, then a brief flat stretch along a fire road before one more uphill-downhill combination, this one comparatively smaller.
We will see lots of hazelnut shrubs all along the appropriately named Hazelnut Trail. Eucalyptus, thimbleberry, coffeeberry, blueblossom, manzanita, coyote mint, ocean spray, huckleberry, orange bush monkeyflower, and California sagebrush are also found along the route.
We will have occasional glimpses of the Pacific, plus views of verdant hillsides, Sweeney Ridge, and Montara Mountain. Deer and lizard sightings are also likely! The trails are well maintained by San Mateo County Parks.
