In-Person Event

(Note: This Event is Cross-Listed)
Hi Sangha, we'll be joining together with our Meetup community for a group meditation and nature walk in Breckenridge Park. I hope to see you there! (Details below)
______________________________________________________
From a global pandemic and lockdown to the recent events in Eastern Europe, the last several years have marked a period of massive upheaval worldwide. It is more important now than ever to come together as a community to create peace, safety, and harmony in our local environment.
Many of us are aware that meditation can improve our mental health. But did you know that group meditations can also have a positive impact on the community? Several peer-reviewed studies have shown that large-scale group meditations can lead to a decrease in local crime rates.
To support peace and well-being in ourselves and our community, we would like to bring together at least 130 people for a silent group meditation on Saturday, May 21st.
This event is for first-timers to advanced meditators alike. All silent meditation styles and traditions are welcome! (If you've never meditated before, you can check out Tanin's video to learn one simple meditation technique - coming soon)
We encourage you to invite family and friends to help us bring together the biggest community we can. Also, please bring water. There are picnic-style tables with benches to sit on.
Join us and be the change you want to see. Together, starting with our community, we can change the world.
Event Schedule:
5:30 pm: Gather at Breckinridge Park South Pavilions in Richardson
5:45 pm: Welcome Message
5:55 pm: Tapping Exercise
6:00 - 6:20 pm: Silent Meditation
6:20 pm: Stay to socialize, walk the park trails together
