Sangha: When We Carry the Light Together

When loss changes a community, we discover the strength of coming together, supporting one another, and carrying the light forward—together.

Communities are living things. They are created through connection, shaped by the people who gather, and sustained by the love and commitment of those who continue to show up.

Over the past few months, Sangha has experienced profound loss and significant change. We have said goodbye to beloved members of our community. We have faced uncertainty about whether and how the group would continue. We have navigated the loss of our original meeting space, challenges with our online community, and the difficult realization that the person who once held the group together was no longer here to guide it.

And yet, Sangha continued.

Not because one person stepped in to replace the person we lost, but because a community came together.

This session is an opportunity to reflect on the power of community during times of transition. We will explore what it means to support one another, to share responsibility, to remain committed to something meaningful, and to recognize that the strength of a community is not held by one individual alone.

Together, we will reflect on the ways Sangha has been carried forward through love, dedication, perseverance, and the simple but powerful decision to continue showing up.

Because sometimes, when one person can no longer carry the light, the community gathers around it.

And together, we keep it burning.

The conference room is located towards the back of the library.
