Featuring a presentation by Greg Mirhan, KJ6ER, who will be discussing his designs for efficient and effective portable antennas that focus on the optimal integration of performance (high radiation efficiency), elegance (speed and simplicity of deployment) and convenience (ease of transport and storage). These designs are shared for free with the global amateur radio community to encourage more radio operators to homebrew their own portable antennas. SMRC members Aaron Heller (AK6IM) and Isaac Heller (KO6GTM) built Greg's PERformer antenna and have used it successfully for many portable activations.

NOTE>> As of March 2026 SRMC will no longer be announcing meetings and events via Meetup. A separate email will continue to be sent out but there not be a Meetup invite. Meetings will also be published on our website club calendar at http://w6uq.org. To receive the email announcement please subscribe via http://w6uq.org/subscribe.

The video conferencing session and in-person location opens at 7:00 pm, and the meeting officially starts at 7:15 pm.

Video Conferencing: The Zoom link will show on the event page after you register for this event.

In-person location: Congregational Church of San Mateo, Betsy Woodward Christian Education building, in the Will Bullis Community Room, 2nd Floor. The church is graciously allowing SMRC to use their meeting room free of charge.

The church address is 225 Tilton Ave, San Mateo, CA. However, on Google Maps, use 220 Catalpa St, San Mateo, CA 94401 to navigate to the parking lot from Catalpa Street. Access to the building entrance is from the back of the building -NOT the main entrance from the street. Finding the building entrance on the church campus may be confusing - watch this video for details: http://w6uq.org/directions

If the parking lot is full, find street parking. For individuals who need it,
there is a limited number of accessible parking in the parking lot.
